In Science, the children received a very special letter from a giant asking for help to make a suitable umbrella! As a cold task, the children worked collaboratively to discuss and choose the materials they thought would work best. They then kindly designed and created a giant-sized umbrella for him! What fantastic teamwork, problem-solving and creativity on display – well done everyone!

What a magical start to the spring term! We were surprised by a letter from George – the smartest giant in town – asking for help to find his missing mug, which he'd lost on our school playground. The children quickly put their detective skills to work, cleverly spotting George's footprints in the snow and successfully finding the mug! This exciting mystery inspired the children to create their own finding tales as part of our Literacy unit. A wonderful beginning full of imagination, teamwork, and storytelling! To make the day even more special, all the children also had great fun playing in the snow at lunchtime, enjoying the wintry weather together.

Spruce from Middleton Primary School and Silver Birch from Yoxford and Peasonhall Primary School had a wonderful visit to The Sainsbury Centre at the UEA in Norwich, where they explored a fantastic range of sculptures from across the world. They spent time looking closely at the shapes, textures and forms of the artworks, which sparked lots of thoughtful discussion and curiosity. Inspired by what they saw, the children then created their own sculptures, using their imaginations and ideas to experiment with shape and structure. It was a brilliant opportunity to learn outside the classroom and see how art can inspire creativity in so many different ways. A big thank you to the team at the Sainsbury Centre for such an inspiring experience! #Kate Monroe #SainsburyCentre
