Never Giving Less Than Our Best
Thank you for visiting our website. We hope the information available here will be useful to existing families, and to those who are looking to bring their children to Middleton Primary School.

In Science, the children have been learning about adaptation and how animals are suited to their environments. The children took part in a fun investigation where they used different tools as "beaks" to discover which type worked best for picking up different kinds of "seeds". They used tweezers, tongs, pegs and chopsticks to explore how birds' beaks are adapted for the food they eat. The children showed excellent teamwork and scientific thinking as they tested, compared and discussed their results.

In RSHE, the children have been learning all about sugar and making healthy choices. They estimated how much sugar was in a serving of different drinks before weighing out the actual amounts themselves. The children were shocked by some of the results and enjoyed discussing healthier alternatives to their favourite drinks!

Middleton Primary School parents, please take a look at some of our upcoming events.

This week in afterschool club, the children baked delicious wholemeal bread rolls! Each child got creative, moulding their roll into a shape of their choice. Well done, everyone you should be very proud of your hard work!

In After School Club this week, the children have been busy planting our hanging baskets in preparation for our entry into the 'Bloom Marvellous' competition! They had a great time getting hands-on with the soil and choosing the plants, and we're looking forward to seeing them grow and brighten up our outdoor space over the coming weeks. Well done everyone!

Spruce class is enjoying visiting Yoxford and taking part in shared Scout sessions. The children all worked well together to discuss how to keep our school grounds tidy and then demonstrated great teamwork when picking up litter. In Art, we have started a unit on drawing, and we enjoyed exploring different sketching pencils to find out how they can be used to create a range of effects.

The children have enjoyed an exciting and creative week of learning. We've been busy designing and making our very own torches, carefully following our plans and bringing our ideas to life. Along the way, we explored circuits, including how to build and use switches, and even thought about the best ways to attach our circuits to the casingsome brilliant problem-solving all round. We also had some exciting visitors who led a "Cloud's Burst" workshop, where we discovered different ways of transforming sound into art. It was great fun! To top it all off, we enjoyed a lovely Easter egg hunt in the sunshinelots of smiles, laughter, and sweet treats. Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Last Friday our school proudly took part in Red Nose Day! Students and staff came together for a day full of fun, laughter, and fundraising activities, all in support of a fantastic cause. From wearing red to taking part in games and challenges, it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and showing their support. We are delighted to share that we raised a total of £32! Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference, and we are so proud of our school community for their kindness and enthusiasm. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated – you made the day truly special!

Last week our students from Yoxford and Middleton made us proud by participating in the Pupil Parliament. They engaged in online meetings and sessions with other schools in our consortium, actively debating, sharing ideas, and respectfully listening to others while learning about British Values.
